Here’s this week’s #Grattitudes – a list of what I’ve enjoyed, appreciated, or discovered:
1. my Tuesday office-
My brilliant friend Paulina suggested that we work from this beautiful hotel near home and I feel FREAKIN’ inspired. I mean, talk about the place to dream big. Just sent the photo above to Chad & Gail, and Chad’s response was “OMG. Enjoy every moment. You deserve to be there!”
I am reminded of how hard he worked to crop together the words “You Deserve Love” to give to me for my 2020 vision board. So in this moment, as I’m waiting for Paulina to arrive, I am so grateful for the beauty and abundance that exists in front of me right now.
2. Sunset at Big Beach-
Why don’t I go to the beach more often to watch the sunset? is a question I’ve been asking myself recently.
The temperature is ideal, I don’t have to put on sunscreen, I have the perfect sand-resistant beach towel that is HUGE and fits 2 people comfortably on it! I’m planning to share this towel in my next #Grattitude video, in case you’re curious.
This sunset beach date was so grounding for me. Feeling the sand between my toes reminded me that I am home. Justine and I were originally planning to meditate together (I think), but we ended up chatting/catching up for the entire time we were together.
3. so into this song right now-
I would like to start by saying that I am not a Kpop girl, and I don’t think I ever really was. So I’m not sure how I ended up here, but I came across a 1Million Dance video where Jay Park was dancing in it. Fell into a bit of a wormhole and ended up watching/listening to his song Yacht on REPEAT all week. And it was so cool to see some of my old instructors in his music video as well!
Love the island vibes in this song. Makes me want to dance and just feel~ good. There’s a line in the chorus where it says “You’re my dope, I’m so high, Baby, work girl work, like Rihanna”… except he doesn’t say RIHANNA, he keeps saying RI-UH-NA. It trips me up every time I listen to it! Cuz I keep wanting to sing it right and I haven’t nailed it yet. So then I have to listen to it again and again until I get it right..
Does this bother anyone else? Please tell me I’m not alone. (Edit: 4 days later, I’VE NAILED IT.)
4. dancing with my friends-
I almost didn’t make it to this ShaktiRize class, but I’m so glad I did!
As soon as I settled in on my mat, I heard someone call “Jenn Rogers!” from behind me… and turns out it was Justine! Several minutes later, our friend Samantha walked into the studio, and we both excitedly scooted over to make room for her.
It was my first time attending a class next to Justine, because I’m usually attending a class she’s teaching! I also twerked for the first time in my life (not by choice!) – it was awkward and awesome.
5. Marriage Story-
The one-liner synopsis: “An incisive and compassionate portrait of a marriage breaking up and a family staying together.”
I was blown away by the acting in this movie on Netflix. I’m a fan of Adam Driver (anyone else find him indescribably charming?!) and I was intrigued by the fact that Scarlett Johansson wasn’t playing a homewrecker for once.
The arguments and interactions between this married couple felt so raw and relatable.. I had a hard time believing that I was watching a movie the whole time. Highly recommend! Here’s the trailer.
